Nurse's Office

Dear Parents/Guardians,

As we conclude this school year, I would like to leave you with a few summer safety tips.

Sun safety for children:
Apply sunscreen with a SPF of 15 or more.
Wear wide-brimmed hats,  UV protective sunglasses and loose-fitting protective clothing.
Stay out of the sun between the hours of 10am to 4pm.
Seek shade when possible.
Avoid sunlamps and tanning beds.

Tick Safety for children:
Avoid areas with high grass and leaf litter, walk center of trails.
Use repellent that contains 20 percent or more DEET that lasts for several hours.
Bathe or shower as soon as possible after coming indoors to wash away any crawling ticks.
Conduct a full body tick check and remove right away if ticks are found.

Water Safety:
Never leave your child unattended in water,
Follow beach and pool rules.
Empty all tubs, buckets, containers and wading pools immediately after use.
Keep toilet lids closed and use toilet seat locks.
Learn CPR.

Warm Regards,
